Day 10

Route: Whitchurch to Lower Egleton (nr Ledbury) - 74 miles

Sorry its late folks- too tired last night

Get to sleep in my own bed !!!!!!!! YAYYYYYY

74 miles just typing that again for the joy of using the 4 key as I’ve had 10 days of struggling with it on the poxy laptop.

Yesterdays ride was a fairly uneventful 74 (once again !) miles

through some lovely rolling Shropshire hills, had to go through

Craven Arms and close to Bishops Castle so was keeping my

eyes on the sky to see if any Para gliders were out to play.

Our attempt at getting licked by cows ended in failure

yesterday after complete indifference from Ermintrude but we

shall keep trying (after checking they have more than one

udder before we approach them!)

3 (yep that’s another key that plays up on the laptop) of my

spokes broke yesterday so I have spent this morning putting

new ones in and shall spend the rest of the trip on a diet.

Once we got past Leominster last night I had visions of riding

home in a blaze of glory unfortunately due to bad legs, bad

wheel and bad map skills we ended up short so called a cab

from the Newtown Tavern in Lower Egleton to my house in

sunny Tewkesbury. Well I say my house I mean via the chippy

where the Little Prince in his wisdom ordered Chicken and

Chips which then took 10 minutes to appear, while we kept a

very patient cabby waiting luckily he hadn’t got a meter

else we’d be spending the morning washing cabs to clear

our debt.

Lazy morning today as we only have to get to Bristol today

where we will be staying with the Little Princes rellies. I saw

my neighbours this morning do they mention the tan? Do they

mention how well I look?

No Sheila tells me I look knackered!

Thanks very much , hopefully I’ll look better on Saturday when

this is all done.

Little Prince Update

He’s still going strong after yet another 70 mile plus day, the

poor Little Prince rang his Dad yesterday to say we’ll be in

Leominster at tea time if he fancied the drive up to have a bite

with us. His Dad apparently was too tired as he had spent

the morning hitting a little white ball around a golf course.

Too tired says the Little Prince we will have cycled 60 miles to

get to Leominster and he’s tired waving a stick at a ball!

Can’t wait for that little reunion this afternoon!

Got to go the cab back to Lower Egleton is booked for 12.30

so I’ve got some serious lazing about to do
