Day 12
Route: Bristol to Bishops Hull - 57 miles
Another shortish day for your undynamic duo.
The Little Prince needed a new tyre and a wheel balance today, which meant a call into Mud Dock in Bristol, which meant a call to Chubb to come to the Pub for Lunch.
Then with all that sorted it was off out of Bristol, going
past the airport. Now I don’t know if its cheaper to fly from
Bristol than anywhere else in the world but it should be,
the hill leading to the airport just keeps going up so I
imagine if you take off from the Airport you probably
save a fortune in fuel as you don’t have to climb, you just
fall off the runway and you are a 25000 ft.
Having said that once we finally got to the top it was
downhill for miles I even had to overtake some tractors
at one stage.
Our search for somewhere to stay started in Taunton
and had us turned away from 3 places because they
were full (yeah right like every hotel is on a Tuesday
night) and ended with us finding a fantastic pub tucked
away in a little village where the locals and staff made a
right royal fuss of us.
Its getting close now but after spending a night at my
home and the next at Marks it seems to be getting
harder to crack on so maybe going home was a mistake
as we seem to have lost our get up and go.
The Little Prince update
Finally the Little Prince gets his share of bike problems,
a few loose spokes buckled his wheel and gave him the
wobbly clown bike I had a few days ago.
The Little Prince would like to thank a few of Carly’s
friends who came to meet us in the Pub where we were
eating, cheers girls thanks for making the effort it really
was appreciated.
The Little Princes dad would also like to thank a few of
Carly’s mates who came to meet us at the pub, although
apparently if he doesn’t wipe the silly smile off his face
soon the Mrs D will do it for him.
Thanks to everyone for the food ,lodging and good
wishes yesterday we now have clean (damp) clothes
so hopefully Cornwall won’t smell us coming.
