Day 13
Route: Bishops Hull to Okehampton - 54 Miles
This was meant to be the easy ride to Glory bit where we coast down to the beach!
Welcome to the Devonian Alps, don’t let anyone tell you any different Devon and Cornwall have the most difficult to conquer mountain ranges, Himalayas pah! You’ve got nothing on the alpine passes of England's southernmost counties.
Another glorious day our comedy cycling tans
are coming on a treat, the Little Prince is trying
especially hard for the full comedy look.
Apart from nearly being killed by a idiot when I
pulled round an ambulance of all things, he
decided he could get past me whilst I went
round the ambulance, the lorry coming the other
way decided he couldn’t so the idiot decides this
is all my fault and starts giving me the special
wave. Needless to say I waved back in a similar
manner inviting the idiot to stop and discuss his
point of view with me. (the Little Prince was for
once close enough to help out in case the idiot
was especially large) sadly the idiot did not
wish to discuss theissue.
Met a mate for a drink this afternoon as we
passed a mile or so fromhis house, we were
going to drop in but saw the hill and reinstated
the no going back rule fairly swiftly. Luckily Hugo,
Dalmatian in tow came up the hill to see us
graciously attempting but failing to buy usa drink.

hello to thewife and little fella for me..
Got to the hotel and there was a full on Ninja
Warrior in the bar, it looked like Monkey was
waiting for Princess Tripitaka and pigsy to turn
up, He had about four rucksacks and a little
trailer and the biggest walking stick you have
ever seen . The strangest thing was that none
of the locals batted an eyelid at this.
Little Prince update
Ohhh dear the poor little mite is tired now, so I
thought I’d tell you about something I forgot to
mention yesterday. The Little Prince had
emailed Bristol City FC to see if they could
sponsor us, they offered to take some photos
at Ashton Gate and perhaps put us in the
programme for a match day.
Now the little Prince has been very excited
about this for a few days now, he has been
describing people who I should look out for,
the main one he mentioned was a little cockney
fella called Gary who from the description I think
I’ve seen in a couple of episodes of Minder.
Sadly none of these people were there so it was
a quick photo shoot and then off again, I think its
upset him a bit as he’s had a bit of a Grump on
but maybe that’s just because we are so close
but it still feels so far away.
