  1. Hi there,

I think it's a really great thing you guys have done. Well done! I was wondering if you could give me some help?- a friend and i are planning to do JOGLE next summer and you seem to be one of the only groups who have both done it from north to south and have a website. I'd really appreciate it if you could help us out, we're only 15 but we're really serious about doing the ride for charity.Could you maybe tell us your route if you still have it? Also, any general hints and tips for the trip? Please help us out if you can, we are young and we need some experience as we really don't want this trip to fail. I appreciate that this might not be the type of comment you designed the page for but who says that you're involvement in the JOGLE experience has to end when you finish the trip?

Thanks for reading and really, if you have literally anything that could help us, please get in touch

  2. hey guys, thanks for the message on our just giving page. we ended up doing 957 miles in 13 days with 1 rest day. good weather seemed to follow us all the way down which was good. shame we didn't see you after loch ness. took about a week for the legs to recover after we finished but was a great experience.

    mark

  3. I would like to just say its been an honour to be part of the adventure that was JOGLE2K9 and I am very proud of the 2 guys for making it all the way and raising a serious amount of cash for a great cause.

When Mark asked me if I minded building him a website for this event I was unsure as to what he needed or if he was actually serious about doing it!

But soon after, I realised he was serious and it has been such a joy to provide everyone with access, news, pics and the humour from the guys as they travelled down the country.

It has also now left me with one thought....... What could I do to pick up the gauntlet of fund raising? I think Mark & Paul have set the bar rather high now although I am open to suggestions for next year :)

    Cheers

    Sy

  4. Well done Paul & Mark.

If you hurry you can join up with the Tour de France, win a few stages and earn enough money to have a good break and then do LeJog (the right way round - with the wind behind you!)

From all your family who were not able to be there to see you finish because they were all lounging by the pool.

  5. Mark we are so proud of you!

Well done and many thanks to Paul for being such a great friend.

  6. Well done Guys, congratulations on making it all the way!!

  7. Just seen the new pics, great effort getting there lads!

What a feeling it must be when you get to that finish line this afternoon, sorry Im not gonna be there but hope to have a beer when your back in Bristol.

PS: Who is gonna cross the finish line first and win the non race then lol

  8. Just leaving Bristol using horse power....see you at Lands End!

  9. Keep up the good work lads, sorry i missed you last night, I'm sure you can't wait for that pint on the finish line!!! Well done!!!!!! xx

  10. Top night out guys, I and Carrie had a great time and was great to catch up. Just uploaded the pics where you both look rather rosy ;) Best of luck for the rest of the week, 200 miles sounds alot although compared to the 700 you have already done Im hoping this should be a nice finish for you this week. Keep the reports coming and we see you after you finish!

  11. Well done so far guys, your doing amazingly, ive been watching simon updating your progress and am utterly impressed by your determination! Cant wait to see you later x x

  12. How can we get msn updates of when the site is updated? Paul's Mom is up and down like a jack-in-the-box constantly checking for updates and consequently "hogging" the pc. We'd both love to be in Worcestershire today to watch you zooming down the hill past the Mitre Oak (usually end to enders struggle up the hill there - with the wind behind them!) Maybe next time you do it...

    Great effort so far.

  13. Hey boys!! Can't believe how amazing you are both doing!! Well done x Looking forward to seeing you both soon! Not long now xx

Also fantastic work on the website Simon! Especially loving the personal service that is msn messages whenever the site is updated ;) thanks bro x

  14. Nearly reached Birmingham I see....land of your ancestors...sorry was that supposed to be a secret? Make sure you wave to your Great Aunts, Uncles and cousins on the way past - Keep going though!!!

  15. Massey, u big girl!! a hybrid, surely now ur in ur physical peak two days could come off the 14!!! Ru running on Guiness and chips?!!

  16. 3 packages of abandoned camping gear arrived safely today. Hope you make even better time without it. Best of luck.

  17. Congratulations to you both on your return to England. At this rate you'll be in Land's End before the welcome party!

  18. Doing good boys! I am however a tad disappointed to see that the baskets have disappeared from your bikes...??? Does this mean there won't be any photos of you in dresses, cardigans and curly wigs??? :D

  19. There is nothing the Scottish midges like better than the tender flesh of three Englishmen on bicycles. They would be queuing up

    "After you, Angus"

"No no I had first bite last time Hamish, on you go"

  20. Authors names now added to each daily report, as requested ;)

  21. Keep up the fine effort lads!

Hope the weather up north aint as hot.... I couldnt ride 10miles in this heat let alone 60+ a day!!!

Keep the pictures coming and see ya soon

    Chris

  22. Didn't I tell you, Paul, that there would be a headwind? Enjoying the daily reports, could you add the author's name, please?

  23. Great work guys, that is some serious miles you have covered!

If anyone wants to get a better view of where the guys reach each day click the Red Stars on each Trip Page for a closer look!

  31. Won't embarass anyone ( this time) just wanted to wish you GOOD LUCK!

  32. That may very well be the case with me, in a coffin.

  33. Oi Davies what goes on tour stays on Tour!

  34. Sticki - There may very well be a plan including dresses..... you'll have to wait and see.....

  35. Not long now boys - or should I say ladies?! Are you going to dress like Miss Marple too? That would be funny - if you do I'll double my sponsorship!!! What are you going to put in those baskets anyhow??

I'm sure you'll be great! Good luck! xx

  36. Bless you, Miss Paula "Contessa" Marple.....

  37. I bought a lovely new helmet in the sale.

only to get it home to find out its a laydeez model.

so the Miss Marple challenge has taken yet another twist.

  38. Who's on who's 6? Marky are you following Massey? If so, massey can you take the piccys so we don't have to see your afterburners? Oh yeah, great balls of fire!

  39. perhaps they will just take the key to my lock so I can'f ride it

  40. They'll probably take mine and leave yours like they usually do....

  41. Not long now

heres hoping the burglars come back and this time take my bike

  42. What maps.......???

  43. best not to let you near the maps then

  44. In a street called "The Glebe"!

For those of you that havent already heard, I nearly lost my car yesterday..... meaning I forgot where I parked it before my bike ride from Oxford to Bristol. My parents found this very amusing as we drove around Oxford looking for it.

We did find it eventually :)

  45. Right Mark where exactly did you leave your car????

  46. I think you will find that although we are all particularly suited to lycra we will not be waering any.

The attention from all the ladies flocking round would slow us up too much

  47. There are some serious lycra bulges pootling around the hedgrows of Hanslope.

    It aint a pretty sight!

  48. I lost 34p ... no economy beans on my toast tonight! :-(

  49. just another 300 and you'll be down to your fighting weight then

  50. I've lost 245 pounds this week, I'll have you know.....

  51. Countdown getting smaller unlike the participants unfortunately

  52. Is it me or is that count down starting to look quite small ;)

  53. Fair play, and best of luck - should be a great experience!

    Adrian

ps - great little web site btw - why on earth fix computers for a living?! :)

  54. He's only gone and bought Lycra. Auntie Ann if we ever meet you are in a whole heap of trouble ; )

  55. i'll give a lot more than £10 if I never have to see Cubby in lycra

  56. OK deal! I'll look for some really nice lycra ones this weekend!

  57. Hi Mark - count Auntie Ann in for £10 - so long as we get to see you in the cycling shorts!!

    Good luck everyone.

  58. Grumpy, general research suggests that prevailing winds in the summer are not to be relied on, its very random in general. Anyway, it's nicer to finish in Lands End and go out to celebratein Cornwall rather than John O Groats (not really reknowned for its night life). Thanks for your support everyone!

PS. Non UK taxpayers can donate as usual, they just dont qualify for gift aid :)

  59. Why are you doing Jogle when the prevailing winds dictate you should be doing "LeJog"?

I'll sponsor you but I do not pay UK tax. What do I do?

    Who is Ian Botham?

  60. Impressive challenge - good luck and fingers crossed for a tail wind :-)

  61. Great website chaps - Good luck with the trip!! Ian B

  62. Top work, thanks Sy, Mark, Paul, all involved.
